Ranma and Happosai in sentō after the water heater breaks in the Tendo household

Sentō (銭湯?) is a type of communal bath houses in Japan. Bath houses are a common sight in Japan, where public bathing is a widely accepted social norm. With facilities seregated by sex, people of all ages, occupations and social standings come here to clean themselves and relax. Because of the importance of hot water to the many Jusenkyo cursed members of the cast, Ranma ½ sees the interior of a bath house on a regular basis.

Happosai particularly enjoys bath houses as his stalking grounds, almost as much as changing rooms; he can raid the lockers in the women's section for his craved lingerie, and then try to peep on the women while they bathe.
