The Ghost Cat Arc is the 29th story arc covered in the Ranma ½ manga, spanning two chapters. This arc was included in volume 14 of the Weekly Shōnen Sunday tankōbon and volume 12 of the Viz Media tankōbon.
Plot Summary Edit
Shampoo gives Ranma a giant bell as a symbol of their engagement, with Shampoo wearing the smaller version. The bell turns out to be the bakeneko Maomolin. He sees the bell on Shampoo and attempts to make her his bride, but fails. Ranma, due to his fear of cats, is unable to fight back properly until Maomolin possesses Genma. Since he is no longer in the cat form, Ranma defeats him easily. He also attempts to possess Shampoo, but fails. Maomolin finally gives up when he sees there are no suitable candidates that can be his bride.
